Island has a number of campgrounds. The town of Avalon on Catalina Island has one campground--Hermit Gulch. Catalina Passenger Service in Newport Beach offers Hermit Gulch GROUP camping packages and/or travel rates. For details, ask for Matt at (949) 673-5245. Great fun for families, scouts, Indian Guides, youth groups, other groups as well as individuals. |

large groups.
- Lighted restrooms with flush toilets. - Coin operated indoor hot showers. - BBQ stands and grills for charcoal. - Picnic tables. - Vending machines, microwave, ice. - Ranger on site. - Lockers. Rentals. -Equipment may be rented on a per
night basis. -Reservations suggested for all equipment except
lanterns and stoves.
-Security deposition may be required. Bicycling: -For bicycling in Catalina's
interior, call the Catalina Island Conservancy at 310-510-2595.
-A $50 permit (good from May 1 through April 30, pro-rated quartely starting August 2005) is required to bicycle outside of Avalon. -No permit is required to bicycle within Avalon city limits and Hermit Gulch Campground. -$7.00 fee per bike brought on board the Catalina Flyer.
